Ted Scott Flying Stories

I found this book at an antique store in Lockhart, Texas. It's an old adolescence series packed full of aviation action. Ted Scott can do it all! Imagine if Amelia Earhart and Indiana Jones had a kid. That would be Mr. Ted Scott. World renowned aviator known for his record breaking attempts, and a man who will never back down from a challenge. If you click HERE you can see the full list of novels from the great folks at Wikipedia. I bought my copy of "Flying Against Time" for a steal at $4.oo. I've even seen a few on the web anywhere from 5 to 50 dollars, depending on condition. Keep your eyes peeled next time you visit your local antiquities dealer.

Antique Cutaway - Popular Mechanics

I found this old Popular Mechanics Magazine cover art, and could not pass up the opportunity to share it. Cutaway art seems to be the trend today here at WingSauce.

Flight Global Cutaways-Cessna Citation CJ4

I found a few of these posters on the FlightGlobal website in the "cutaways" section. They have all of your favorite aircrafts cut, split, and described in fantastic detail. I just found myself, three days later, still looking at these posters. Thank you thank you thank you Flight Global.

Aviation Photography

You might have seen Tyson V. Rininger's photos and articles in various aviation publications across the globe. His work sets the standard for the rapidly growing business and hobby of modern aviation photography. Here is a snip from his website describing what he's been getting into.

Currently, I'm a contributing photographer for multiple
agencies including the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) and work with
nearly two-dozen magazines on a repeat basis. I have had such incredible
assignments including coverage of helicopter operations aboard a U.S. aircraft
carrier, documenting the world's fastest piston driven aircraft; RareBear, and
the first civilian spaceflight (SpaceShipOne) for Air & Space Smithsonian
Magazine. Since 2004 I've worked with the U.S. Navy Legacy Flight Program for
the Department of Defense, the first ever Joint Red Flag exercise at Nellis AFB
for Combat Aircraft Magazine and the 100th Anniversary of Flight celebration in
Dayton, Ohio for the International Council of Air Shows. In 2010, I became the
first civilian photographer to provide the US Navy Blue Angels Demonstration
Team with their annual promotional lithograph. My choice of vocation has been
noted as being so unique that Fox News aired an extensive interview in October
2004 and was noted as being one of the most dangerous jobs in Tom Jones' book,
"Risky Living".

Check out his website. It's worth the look. http://www.tvrphotography.com/

Super Cub - Christian Sturm's Project Website.

.

Christian's build is one of the coolest looking Super Cubs I have seen on the web. Here's a lil' note from his site on why he wanted to build a PA-18.

The short answer - because I can! The long answer - I always loved the
Super Cub and wanted to own one since I started flying at age 15.

Fast foward 23 years later and I am at the point in my life where I can own a
plane. The problem is, what once was a $30-50k airplane is now a
$150k airplane. Wow!
How can a plane cost more than a house? I'll leave this argument for later but I
will say that greedy parachute lawyers are mostly to blame. So being the
bargain hunter I am, I want to spend a whole lot less. I prefer to have
something new and not 50 years old. I love a challenging project and like to
build. I've built a plethora of radio control airplanes from scratch. So....
here I am - building an experimental Super Cub.

He has a great set of plans, that he graciously shares with a link on his site, professional videos, and cools build and test info.

Stewart Systems Fabric Covering

If you click HERE it will take you to the Stewart Systems "How To" You Tube page on fabric/metal work. Click a few to pick up tips on covering your plane. I learned about these guys via "Christian Sturm's Experimental Super Cub Project." Please check out Christian's website to see his amazing bird.

Where's all the damn TP?
